InvoCare has national funeral brands such as Simplicity Funerals, as well as other local Western Australian funeral brands, such as Mareena Purslowe, Oakwood, Purslowe & Chipper, and Christian Funerals.

We are seeking a Funeral Director Assistant to join our After Hours Transfer Team based out of our North Perth location to work on a rotational roster. The successful candidate must have a caring and understanding nature together with well-developed interpersonal skills and sensitivity to circumstances involving grieving people. As a part of our team, your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Transfers of deceased persons from homes, hospitals, nursing homes into our care.
  • Vehicle Maintenance/Cleaning

The successful applicant must:

  • Be at ease working within a funeral and mortuary environment
  • Demonstrate an inherited belief in Customer Service. This is our number one priority and candidates must be willing to service the needs of our families
  • Sensitivity, along with a comfort to circumstances involving grieving people, and their values and beliefs.
  • An ability to be customer focused, and to communicate and respond effectively to all levels of the public.
  • Insight and empathy, in order to interpret the needs of people.
  • Have strong attention to detail and the ability to follow direction
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative as well as carry out duties in a safe manner and in accordance with Manual Handling, WHS/OHS guidelines
  • Excellent personal presentation and pride in themselves and the brand you represent
  • Unrestricted Driver’s License 
  • As this is a varied role, your flexibility to complete a range of tasks is essential

Whilst previous experience is advantageous, full training will be provided in the role.  Mostly we are looking for candidates that have exceptional customer service standards and can show empathy, patience and resilience in performing the role. You must be able to meet the physical and psychological requirements of the role.
