Innovative positions available within the newly established Support and Safety Hubs in Frankston to provide a new way for women, families and young people in need of support to access coordinated support. The Hubs will deliver a fundamental change to the way we work with women, children and families, and men.  The role of the Hubs is to provide:

  • a more visible contact point so that people know where to go for specialist support
  • advice based on contemporary risk assessment tools and guidance
  • specialist support and tailored advice for victims, families and children, and perpetrators
  • connection and coordination of access to support
  • a system-wide view of service capacity, client experience and outcomes

More about the Role

  • Deliver screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions, allocation and coordinated referrals consistent with the Integrated Practice Framework
  • Identify, assess and prioritise risk and needs of women and children, families and perpetrators, drawing on the expertise of different practitioners in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Deliver services and support via phone, within the physical hub and outreach at client's home or other sites.
  • Apply for brokerage on behalf of clients in accordance with Brokerage Guidelines.
  • Navigate the broader service system for clients by referring clients to services and providing clients with information and support.
  • Participate in training and development activities designed to build capabilities to work effectively in the Hub environment.

Successful Candidate will have following attributes

  • A relevant degree level qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or related discipline
  • Experience working with families and children with complex needs and risk issues
  • Experience in conducting comprehensive safety, risk and wellbeing assessments and working within the 'Best Interests Principles' as outlined within the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005
  • A sound understanding of the Integrated Family Services and Child Protection systems and/or Family Violence Womens and Childrens Services
  • A satisfactory police check, clear Working with Child Check and a current Victorian Driver's Licence are required.
