About the business
NPA Family and Community Services is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Organisation providing a range of social, health and community services to the residents of the NPA (Bamaga, Injinoo, New Mapoon, Seisia and Umagico) for over 20 years. The NPAFACS Primary Health Care Service was established in 2015 to provide primary health care services inclusive of GP services and is AGPAL accredited.
About the role
To develop and deliver a culturally appropriate Smoking Cessation support service to pregnant ladies and their families in the NPA.
- Work in collaboration with key stakeholders to develop a culturally appropriate model for a Smoking Cessation support service
- Work in accordance with the Project Plan, update as required and provide reports against the project outcomes
- Develop a support network for pregnancy mothers within the 5 communities
- Provide brief intervention and smoking cessation support in a variety of individual, group and outreach settings
- Provide secondary consultation and/or training to staff of NPAFACS and external agencies, in relation to smoking cessation

Skills and experience
- Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice) or similar qualification
- Qualifications and/or experience working in AOD and brief intervention
- Demonstrated experience in program planning and evaluation
- AHPRA registered
- Current Queensland drivers licence
