Youth Homelessness Services provide suitable emergency accommodation options and professional support for young people who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless.
The Youth Case Manager will develop and maintain an outreach service targeting youth within the region through the provision of case management, support, information, advocacy and counselling to/for young people and their families. The outcome is to facilitate the process of moving young people forward toward independent living and responsible life styles.
You will:
- Have a commitment to, and an understanding of, youth issues particularly in relation to youth homelessness
- Have strong relationship building and communication skills
- Possess initiative, flexibility and a willingness to contribute to the development of the service
- Be able to work under pressure, organise priorities and meet deadlines
It is essential for you to have:
- Current Australian Drivers Licence
- Certificate 4 or above in a Human Services related field e.g. Youth Work, Community Services, Case Management, Disability, Mental Health, etc.
- Relevant experience, in a paid or voluntary capacity
A tertiary qualification in a Human Services related field e.g. Social Work will be highly regarded. You may also need to be available for some out of hours work and travel between UCSA sites or interstate as required.
