Relationships Australia SA (RASA) is a dynamic community services organisation that delivers a broad range of programs and services. The Family and Relationships/SFVS Counsellor provides individual, couple and family counselling to assist people resolve difficulties and build stronger relationships.
Family and Relationships Counselling involves working with all family members including children, and is primarily accountable to the safety and best interests of children. The Family and Relationships/SFVS Counsellor responds to a wide range of complex relationship and social issues which include parenting difficulties, relationship breakdown, family and domestic violence, mental health, substance misuse, problem gambling, childhood trauma and abuse.
The successful applicant will need to have demonstrated experience in providing counselling to those affected by Family and Domestic Violence including children and those using violence in relationships. and demonstrated experience in facilitating behaviour change therapeutic groups.
Essential Requirements:
- A tertiary qualification (AQF Level 8) in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals, couples or families in a therapeutic context.
- Demonstrated experience in providing counselling to those effected by Family and Domestic Violence including children and those using violence relationships.
- Demonstrated understanding of the family violence behaviour change process.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating behaviour change therapeutic groups.
- A DCSI - Child Related Employment Screening Clearance is essential and employment is not able to commence without a current clearance.
Desirable Requirements:
- A post graduate (AQF level 9) qualification in social work, psychology or counselling.
