About us
The Multiple Sclerosis Society of SA/NT aims to minimise the impact of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) on individuals, their families, carers and the community. The MS Society is a community based Not-for-profit organisation that offers a range of services including counselling and education for the newly diagnosed, nursing assessment and support with side effects and symptom management, occupational therapy, social work, physiotherapy, employment support, information and referral. We provide information increasing awareness within the community whilst supporting research into improved treatments and ultimately finding a cure.
About the role
Due to growth, we are now recruiting for an additional resource to support our Client Services team. The primary objective of the Wellbeing and Social Support Coordinator is to provide professional services to clients who have MS, their families and other relevant supports. The Wellbeing and Social Support Coordinator works in partnership with other MS allied health staff, as well as a range of other service provider stakeholders to support the professional and efficient service delivery in a way that is responsive to the needs of our clients.
What we’re looking for
To be successful in your application you will:
Have demonstrated experience in disability case management, health, advocacy, service coordination
Understand the potential needs, services and issues faced by people with physical and/or cognitive disabilities
Be a motivated and driven individual who is keen to challenge yourself
Have well developed analytical and problem solving skills
Possess an exceptional customer service ethic and the ability to execute client focussed outcomes
Be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written format
Have the capability to work autonomously, and as part of a high-functioning team
Essential Requirements
Qualifications in Behavioural, Social or applied Science or a Health discipline with eligibility for AASW or AWCA
Current DSCI Screening certificate
Current Police Clearance
Motor vehicle and current South Australian driver’s licence
Desirable Requirements
An understanding of Multiple Sclerosis and other neurological disorders
Previous experience in Disability or Community sectors
Knowledge of the NDIS
