New Horizons is seeking a passionate and results driven Team Leader on a full time 12-month max term contract, with potential for extension.
 
In this position, you’ll be managing the day to day running of our residential property at Gorokan. As part of your role, you will supervise a close knit team of Support Workers, to ensure delivery of a quality person centred and recovery focussed program for our customers living in the property.
 

Directly, you will report to the Customer Service Manager in our Central Coast team. Your working days will be from Monday to Friday, completing a 40-hour work week.

 

The day to day

  • Provide operational and procedural direction to the team, setting clear team and individual objectives and ensuring these are understood
  • Take the lead in problem resolution and appropriate issue escalation
  • Ensure employee rosters, resources, brokerage and other expenditure aligns to budgets
  • Ensure customer support is person centred and align to customer aspirations. Proactively seek innovative ways to support the customers journey

What you need to have:

  • Passion, Respect & Integrity
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications and/or knowledge and experience in a similar role within the human services industry
  • Strong skills in managing a program/service, with experience in managing a budget and preparing rosters
  • Proven experience in leading teams
  • Experience in providing expert advice and recommendations at senior level
  • Experience in investigating complex or sensitive matters
  • Advanced competency in working with people with a mental illness and Disability
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and also in a team environment
  • Ability and confidence to communicate and work with other staff outside of the immediate team
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities according to agreed timeframes and quality standards
  • National Criminal History Check (Police Check) and Working with Children Check
  • Valid NSW Drivers C class licence, with ability to drive vehicles in licence class, including large cars & vans
