We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Coordinator or Team Leader looking to make the next step in their career to become a valuable member of the Scope team. The Coordinator (respite) role is highly rewarding as you will work for an organisation that supports people with a disability in an inclusive and individualised way.

About the role:

  • You will be the leader and role model to a group of passionate Disability Support Workers dedicated to providing person centred support
  • Provision of mentoring, development and leadership to a team in order to provide flexible services which meet the individual needs of the customer
  • Get involved with how we will deliver services in the future, run with new ideas and provide valuable feedback and input as we begin to operate in an NDIS environment.
  • Get talking to stakeholders! Liaise and meet with community groups, government bodies, clients and their family to work towards individual goals and outcomes
  • Be involved with recruiting staff that match the service, the team and most importantly the customers
  • Manage OH&S where you and your team deliver services to continue to ensure that Scope always provides a safe and happy workplace for all
  • Whilst managing a service team you will still be getting hands on and providing practice leadership through some provision of direct support to customers as required (up to ~ 20% of your time)

About you:

  • You will have a passion to support people with a disability in an inclusive way which meets the individual needs of each customer at your service
  • You are someone that people call a proven leader and you are a role model, approachable and build strong trusted relationships with all stakeholders
  • Strategic in your thinking about how to improve your service and contribute to Divisional and Organisational changes that positively affect your service
  • You like change and work well in leading a team through an ever changing environment
  • Experience within the disability field as a manager of staff – preferably in a lifestyle program and/or individual support environment - is a must!
  • Related training and/or qualifications is definitely a bonus!

Successful applicants will be required to hold a satisfactory Police Check issued within the last twelve months for employment in disability and a Working with Children Check.
