About the Role

CareSouth is currently seeking a Full Time Permanency Support Leader to join our CareSouth Southern NSW Team based in Goulburn.

Under the direction and support of the Manager, you will be responsible for providing strong leadership and coordinating the requirements of the team on a day-to-day basis whilst ensuring the provision of services and support to staff, children, young people, individuals, and families in line with CareSouth's Practice Framework and Permanency Support Program. We are seeking a positive, collaborative and engaging leader who can demonstrate previous success and knowledge in the facilitation of permanency support, experience with adoption, guardianship, foster care, and family restoration/preservation. 

The successful candidate will be able to foster an environment that focuses on safety, healing and connection in a respectful, meaningful and purposeful way for the children, young people and individuals that we work with.

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the safety of children, young people and people with a disability.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work/Welfare, Social Sciences, Disability or relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity within the OOHC, Disability Services or Community Services Sector.
  • Proven flexibility, adaptability and ability to respond and adjust easily to changes in work demands.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team, including staffing, budget management, reporting and accountability.
  • Understanding of the ongoing effects of injuries, trauma and/or neglect and abuse.
  • Experience working within a Therapeutic Framework model of care.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven effective interpersonal, conflict negotiation and resolution skills and the ability to provide strong leadership under pressure.
  • Demonstrated understanding and recent experience in child protection and permanency support service areas.
