About the position
In this context UA seeks experienced Direct Care Workers with Certificate III Aged Care or Home & Community Care to join our innovative and expanding community based service, supporting older people living in their own homes.
The Direct Care Worker will be directly responsible to the Client Advisor and will provide services to clients including domestic assistance, shopping, showering, socialization and transport.
Ideal candidates will be reliable and adaptable, motivated and committed to the provision of quality care and continuous improvement, and have the capacity to work well autonomously and in a team environment.
Experience in aged care is preferred, and the ability to speak a second language will be highly regarded.
A current driver's licence and vehicle are required.
This appointment is subject to a satisfactory Police Check.

About the role
To ensure that client's rights, cultural, spiritual and other individual needs are incorporated in all aspects of care and daily living
To maintain friendly, supportive and professional relationships with clients, their relatives and friends
To recognise changes in clients' conditions and report observations and concerns in accordance with UA processes
Skills and experience
Minimum qualification of Certificate 3 in Individual Support or equivalent or currently undertaking studies towards same
Satisfactory completion of Provide Physical Assistance with Medication competency maybe required
Evidence of current First Aid Certificate and a current drivers licence is required
Comprehensive knowledge in community care with a commitment to high standards of care for clients and their families
Experience in safety in the Aged Care or Health Sectors
Experience in residential and community aged care
