About the role

We are looking for a passionate, dedicated, resilient and trauma informed Case Manager to guide and support to help the Children and Young People in our care achieve life skills and personal goals. We are giving all Lifestyle Solutions employees the opportunity to apply for this full time permanent position in Newcastle.

The position is based in our Newcastle office however you will spend a large portion of your time visiting and supporting the Children and Young People in our care in surrounding regional areas.

If this is you, and you have experience working with children to identify their needs, our Case Manager role will provide you with the opportunity to ensure the best interests of the children and young people are always at the forefront of what we do.

As a Case Manager you will have a positive attitude, the enterprise to work alone, the wisdom to ask for help, the resourcefulness to handle competing priorities, and the creativity to transform ideas into actions.  Your verbal communication skills will be outstanding as you liaise with managers, carers and natural parents, team leaders, support staff and external stakeholders to undertake comprehensive assessments that affirm our goal of providing individual strength based case plans.  Your follow up comprehensive reports will be an opportunity for you to display your well developed written communication skills in a comprehensive but precise format.  You will also possess formal qualifications in the field of Social Science, Psychology and/or have relevant experience. Above all, you are someone who respects professional boundaries and holds the safety of children and young people paramount.

To be successful for this position you will have; 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social work, Social Sciences, Behavioural Science or similar field
  • Experience managing and supporting Children and/or Young People in complex and challenging environments
  • Excellent knowledge of the Child Care and Protection Act and Out of Home Care Legislative standards
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and in partnership with other services
  • Strong reflective practises within the team and willing to take on feedback from stakeholders
  • NSW Drivers licence
  • Working With Children Check and National Criminal history check clearance
  • First Aid certificate or willing to obtain one
