Seeking Companion/ carer/therapy assistant for 57-year-old man with disabilities (TBI) in the Halls Head area. Interests prior to injury included photography, 4WD’s, light aircraft and caving. A background or interest in these areas would be an advantage. We are looking for someone who can provide assistance, companionship, personal interaction and support to achieve set goals within the community and family home.
Duties include:
Support and supervision to access community events and outings
provision of transport and social support for outings,
assistance with therapy programs - Conducting Physiotherapy, OT and speech programs as directed
Help with personal care; showering/dressing
some light housework/handyman work dependant on candidates skill set
Meal preparation
Supervision while eating
Approx. 12-20 hours per week. Must be available for Saturdays and some evening shifts and occasional in-home o/night care as required.
The successful applicant will require;
A current Police clearance and Working with Children Check
A reliable vehicle and drivers licence.
Current first Aid Certificate
Experience conducting physiotherapy and/or OT programs preferred but not essential.
