About the business
Banjima Native Title Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (BNTAC) is the Prescribed Body Corporate (PBC) that holds native title on trust for the Banjima People.
The Banjima Determination area covers a large area of land and waters in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
As well as their roles and responsibilities as a PBC, BNTAC's objectives include relief for disadvantage, the maintenance and support of traditions, laws, language and culture and the provision of economic, social and cultural benefits to Banjima People.
About the role
Working closely with the Implementation and Compliance Manager, the primary objectives of this role will be to assist in:
- the establishment and management of compliance processes, including the development of monitoring and evaluation tools; and
- management of key programs and projects.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist in the management and implementation of key programs and projects that support traditions, laws, language and culture of Banjima People and provide economic, social and cultural benefits;
- Assist in the development and maintenance of systems to monitor and comply with agreements;
- Participation in project team meetings and follow-up project and program actions;
- Undertake research and collect information for projects and meetings as required;
- Assist in the preparation of agendas, briefing papers and minutes;
- Periodic travel to the Pilbara region to attend meetings as required.

Skills and experience
Essential
- High level interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with Banjima People, BNTAC Staff, and external stakeholders;
- Experience in monitoring compliance of agreements;
- High level organisational skills and ability to consistently follow-through on tasks in a timely manner;
- Excellent written skills for a variety of purposes;
- Ability to work in a busy environment while managing conflicting demands; and
- Ability to think critically and demonstrate initiative.
Desirable
- Experience working with Aboriginal organisations and people;
- Working with informations systems to maintain records and generate reports;
- Cultural competence, particularly with Aboriginal people; and
- Experience working in the Native Title Sector.
