Core Community Support Workers
arbias supports people to re-engage with their community through building both formal and informal supports within the person's local community and currently operates across the Melbourne metropolitan regions.
Core Community Support Workers undertake the day to day work with individuals in the community or in their home, ensuring the highest quality support for the people who access the programs.
Key Selection Criteria:
1. Experience in the provision of services to people with a disability and, in particular, people with an acquired brain injury, complex needs, dual diagnosis and behaviours of concern
2. Expertise in applying a person centred approach to all aspects of work
3. Experience in the provision of community based support to people with a disability and in particular those with complex care needs
4. Well developed written and verbal communication
5. Sound negotiation, relationship building, problem solving and time management skills
6. High level of professionalism and integrity, proven ability to represent the organization in a professional manner at all times and demonstrated initiative, flexibility and positive attitude
7. The ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team environment
8. Certificate IV (or equivalent) in Health & Community Services, Disability or equivalent with a willingness to develop further knowledge in the areas of Acquired Brain Injury, Justice, Alcohol & Other Drugs, Mental Health and Dual Diagnosis is desirable

- Current CPR/First Aid
