Residential Support Worker- Housing Services
Locations include: Glenroy, North Melbourne, Abbotsford and Wheeler’s Hill.

arbias currently seeking experienced Residential Support Workers/Community Development Workers to join our reputable and growing Housing Support Services. As a Residential Support Worker, you will be working within a unique initiative that addresses the shortfall in accessible accommodation of seriously injured individuals.
The Role
In this diverse role, you will be:
- Supporting individuals that have high complex support needs and require intensive support to maximize their independence.
- responsible for providing quality personal care, therapy support and community access
- work collaboratively with treating teams and allied health professionals &
- Work in accordance with arbias’ values and funding requirements.
Mandatory
Successful applications must address the following Key Selection Criteria:
- Availability to work across a 24/7 roster, including morning, evening, sleepover or active night shifts
- A minimum of 6 months experience in the provision of services to people with a disability and, in particular, people with an acquired brain injury, complex care needs, dual diagnosis and behaviors of concern
- experience in providing direct support to individuals who require a high degree of personal care support and physical assistance to complete activities of daily living
- Expertise in applying a person centred approach to all aspects of work
- Well-developed written and verbal communication
- First aid level 2
- National Police Check
- Current Working with Children's Check
- Current Victorian Driver's License
Desirable requirements:
- Certificate IV (or equivalent) in Health & Community Services, Disability or equivalent with a willingness to develop further knowledge in the areas of Acquired Brain Injury, Justice, Alcohol & Other Drugs, Mental Health and Dual Diagnosis
- Certified training in:
- Personal care & infection control
- Manual handling
- Bowel management and catheter care
- Medication management/administration
- Anaphylaxis
