Who we are…

Life Choice has been a trusted advocate for community inclusion, respect and valuing of people with a disability on the Fraser Coast since 1996.  Our aim is to assist our participants in the pursuit of their life choices, either in their own home or the community, to enable greater quality of life experiences.

Our individual lifestyle plans and increasing range of support services ensures we meet the changing needs of participants, new and existing, and their families.  Through support services including in home assistance, accommodation support and everyday life skill development our 100+ staff provide positive, and rewarding experiences in line with the life choices of each of our participants.

We are currently seeking an experienced person to join our team as a Participant Support Linker.

The role involves...

The purpose of the position is to facilitate community inclusion and participation for individuals with varying needs, ability and preferences.  This includes supporting participants to establish and maintain relationships and interests through access to community activities, venues and services.

We are looking for...

  • This position is for a unique, inspired individual who want to make a difference in people’s lives and promote independence, social inclusion and help people reach their full potential.
  • We require an energetic, competent people person with outstanding team skills and the ability to communicate at a high level while working with a wide range of people. 
  • Minimum of three years experienced working in a similar industry.
  • We require a compassionate team member who has the ability to be ethical with a strong sense of social justice and who is willing to foster our Life Choice culture.

To be successful in the role you should also have...

  • Experience in planning & facilitating service delivery options for individuals
  • Relevant certificate 3 level qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Current Qld driver's licence
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to use sound judgement, be responsible and make decisions while working with limited supervision
  • Ability to work within and suggest improvements to procedures.
  • Ability to adapt according to the circumstances and remain calm in complex situations.

Eligibility for a Working with Children Blue Card and Yellow Exemption Card is mandatory.
