Our existing Sydney sites spread from Windsor down to Nowra, and from Penrith to Ashfield with further expansion plans for 2018, and in Queensland we have sites in Beenleigh, Waterford, Southport with many more to follow.  We currently have a total staff of +-1500 employees, employed in full-time, part-time and casual capacities and we support over 2,500 clients daily.

About the opportunity
Due to our decision to grow into the Victorian market as part of our on-going strategic growth, combined with our already strong reputation within the disability secotor, we will very quickly be signing new clients who will want us to handle their support co-ordination, and therefore we have created a position for an NDIS Support Coordinator for the greater Melbourne region.

As this is a newly created and vital position within the multiple state basedNDIS Team, it is absolutely imperative that the successful candidate has a combination of experience and skills within disability, and more specifically, the NDIS.

A few of the key responsibilities will cover, but not be limited to the following:

  • Provide a centralised planning and co-ordination point related to NDIS enquiries from both existing and new clients
  • Assist clients , families and carers through support co-ordination
  • Accurately record all progress and agreed outcomes and actions
  • Respond to new support co-ordination enquiries for new participants
  • Build up a reliable resource base of service providers across Sydney
  • Follow up any and all questions managers have about the NDIA
  • Ensure all new information from the NDIA is filtered to the appropriate people with Afford.
  • Any and all other duties as deemed necessary, or as requested from management.

About the candidate
This is a pivotal role within Afford and the NDIS Team as it is the conduit between Afford and our clients, new and existing. For this reason. it is important to be able to deliver to the highest of standards at all times. The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate skills and experience in:

  • Tertiary qualification in disability
  • Strong knowledge of the NDIS, NDIS packages, person centred care and individualised support.
  • Previous, sound experience working within the disability industry
  • Strong administration skills
  • Ability to manage and deliver to multiple deadlines
  • Sound ability around time and priority management
  • Clear, effective communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Highly computer literate
  • A clean, unrestricted VIC drivers licence
