About the opportunity
Due to us growing our footprint into Melbourne, we have a very exciting and challenging opportunity within our Client Services Senior Management Team. We are currently looking to recruit a highly energised, experienced and forward thinking District Manager for our newest district, the greater Melbourne district. Some of the core responsibilities of this key position will include, but not be limited to:

This is an administration focused role, where you will be solely responsible for a number of individual lifestyle centres, group homes and a respite centre. We willbe growing this district very quickly, and therefore the number of sites may increase due to the on-going rollout of the NDIS. Some of the day to day duties and responsibilities will typically include, but not be limited to:

  • Implement the organisation's objectives and strategies
  • Develop key relationships with external agencies, MP's, advocates, NDIS Support Co-Ordinators, and community groups
  • Oversee all NDIS claiming and checking NDIS portal for invoicing errors
  • Read and approve all quotes and service agreements from within the district
  • Promote Afford to develop new business
  • Ensure services are delivered in accordance with Afford's procedures, instructions and all relevant legislation
  • Manage and support staff across all sites within the greater Melbourne region
  • Oversee staff rosters and timesheets in accordance with Afford's requirements
  • Manage the budgets, administrative and financial systems
  • Ensure a safe and healthy workplace by administering and adhering to all AFFORD's WHS policies and procedures
  • Any / all other duties as requested by the Senior Executive Management of AFFORD

About the candidate
At a strategic level, this is a key appointment within Afford, and therefore the experience, skills and selection criteria need to be met on all levels in order to be considered. Essential criteria includes:

  • Strong knowledge of the Disability Service Standards
  • Solid knowledge of the NDIS price guides and regulations
  • Proven and successful business development skills
  • Previous district management experience preferably
  • Qualifications within the disability services sector - highly advantageous
  • Demonstrated understanding of the person-centred approach
  • Previous experience preparing and delivering to budgets
  • Strong networks, and ability to network with people we interact with daily
  • High level problem solving skills
  • Strong time and priority management skills
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Unrestricted NSW drivers licence
