Development Manager - Trusts & Foundations

We currently require a Development Manager - Trusts & Foundations to join the Engagement & Philanthropy team.

The Development Manager Trusts and Foundations reports to the Head of Engagement and Philanthropy and  is responsible for the development, implementation and execution of strategies to increase philanthropic support for Murdoch Children’s Research Institute from Philanthropic Trusts and Foundations & Private Ancillary Funds (PAF’s). This role provides leadership through developing and implementing plans for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of relationships within the philanthropic sector. 

You will also be responsible for:

  • Managing relationships with fundraising groups and foundations who distribute funds raised in accordance with a non-peer reviewed process.
  • Preparing and arranging all correspondence, meetings, tours and other engagement activity for Trusts and Foundations staff.
  • Ensuring Director, Board and senior MCRI staff are linked and engaged with key people within the Philanthropic sector.
  • Developing an applications and report annual timetable.
  • Ensuring deadlines are met for applications to Trusts and Foundations.
  • Providing reports to Trusts and Foundations as outlined in guidelines.
  • Ensuring awarded grants are acquitted in accordance with trust guidelines.
  • Working closely with the Head of Engagement and Philanthropy, and in collaboration with MCRI staff, identify projects which require funding and include projects in the case for support document.
  • Overseeing a review of current and possible new Trust and Foundation relationships for MCRI.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to match projects with Trust and Foundation Guidelines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with MCRI staff to develop projects for funding.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Good computer based skills (Word, Power Point, Excel).
  • Operate under the Institutes policies and procedures.
  • Degree qualified/Certificate or Associate Diploma or equivalent in relevant field
  • Working with Children & National Police Clearance (if appointed) in compliance with the Victorian Governments Child Safety Standards.
