About the opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled and experienced Team Leader and Trainer to lead, train, mentor and report on a team of disability support workers in the Campbelltown region. Your responsibilities would include:

  • Meetings with clients, families and carers to discuss current services and any required changes.
  • Communicate with the Support Coordinators any changes requested.
  • Promote positive family and community relationships.
  • Manage and support your subordinate staff.
  • Contribute to quality and continuous business improvement.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy workplace by implementing and adhering to all WHS policies and procedures.
  • Assess current individual training levels of support workers.
  • Implement individualised training programs.
  • Oversea and implement formal Certificate courses in Disability (In conjunction with our Assessing Officer).

About the candidate
As this is a training focused position, it is very important that the successful candidate not only displays the qualities needed for a Team Leader, but that they have proven skills and experience in the following:

  • Qualification in Disability - minimum Cert IV in Community Services / Disability or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 / 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity within disability services
  • Previous experience in managing and supervising staff
  • Genuine interest in working with people with disabilities
  • Experience in working with clients with complex and challenging needs
  • Previous experience in training
  • Ability to build and work in a tight knit team,
  • Strong reporting skills
  • Effective and clear communication skills - both written and verbal
  • A clean, unrestricted drivers licence
