About the Role
As the Senior Child Protection Practitioner, you will be responsible for supporting and developing Child Protection Practitioners in their role, demonstrating your expertise through case practice. Based in picturesque East Gippsland, close to the Gippsland Lakes, this is a permanent full-time role with a 76-hour working fortnight. Work may be required outside of normal office hours, relevant overtime or time in lieu will apply.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Case planning review and case management
- Use evidence-based framework to investigate issues, understand the root cause and potential implications
- Collaborate with families, practitioners and external agencies to achieve the best outcomes for all parties
- Effectively use business technology, systems and procedures
- Practice leadership - lead all parties through child protection assessment and decision making
Skills and Experience
- A relevant qualification in social work or community services is required
- Experience in a similar role is essential
- The ability to regulate emotions in distressing or alarming circumstances will be beneficial
- You will be required to undertake a Police Check
- Valid driver's licence and a Working with Children Check are mandatory for this position
