The Role

Everyone needs support in their life, however some people need more support than others. Support Workers have the privilege of working alongside people every day to ensure they are living a full and active life both in the community and in their home. As a Support Worker you are keen to ensure people feel listened to, valued and that they are capable of achieving amazing things. You like to celebrate the small achievements and the big life changing moments, and you know that this looks different for everyone. You see contribution as important, and the conversation about human rights is always on the table.

Being independent is important, and so is interdependence - supporting a person to find a sense of belonging and build friendships and natural supports is a key part of the role. Equally important is the responsibility of supporting people to keep themselves safe from harm and to stay healthy. Just like life, there's the fun stuff and the serious stuff and as a Support Worker your role calls for you to focus on both. There are policies and procedures in place to assist you in all areas of your work.

Everyone here is an individual. We all need different kinds of support and we all have different interests or life goals. What we agree on though is that we like people to work with us who are trustworthy, resilient, respectful and understanding. Oh, and a sense of humour is a must. We like to work in partnership because we believe that together we are better and everyone is equal. We know you'll enjoy learning from us, and we'll learn a lot from you to.

Do you feel you are a best fit for this role? If so, we can't wait to meet you as we are seeking experienced Support Workers to join the team at our group accommodation homes across the Port Macquarie, Kempsey and Coffs Harbour areas in full time, part time and casual roles.

You will need to be confident in supporting people with personal care and medical needs. Building rapport and taking the time to get to know each person you're working with is essential as a major part of your role is supporting individuals to build community connections and natural support networks.

Please note: This role is on a 24/7 roster, so you will need full availability for days, afternoons, nights and weekends with the potential to work across multiple sites.
