About Status

Status has a 28 year history of providing outstanding Commonwealth and State Government employment and training programs to unemployed and disadvantaged people across the Adelaide region, where we currently deliver training and case management to over 5000 clients each week.

 In 2017 year we expanded our footprint to Western Australia through the awarding of a Commonwealth Government contract, delivering the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program at Fremantle, Cannington, Rockingham and Mandurah. More recently we have achieved further success to expand in Western Australia through the winning of jobactive business which commenced delivery in March this year at our already established sites to an additional 5000 clients. Our success in entering the Western Australian market doesn’t stop there and we are really excited to announce we will deliver the Disability Employment Services DMS and ESS programs commencing 1 July 2018. This additional program will allow us to further showcase our experience as a high performing employment services and offer a number of exciting opportunities for skilled and experienced Employment Consultants to join the professional team at Status.

We are currently looking to appoint Employment Consultants at our sites at Cannington and Fremantle. The successful appointees must be committed to working 'hands on', with our disadvantaged customers to make a positive difference to their lives. These are exciting and challenging roles, where lateral thinking is key, along with a strong focus on assisting people with a disability to re-enter the workforce.

What we are looking for

To be a successful, you will have:

• Experience within DES or jobactive would be highly regarded but not essential
• Good people skills, supported by experience in a customer service industry
• An ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
• The ability to find solutions to overcome employment barriers
• A strong commitment to the valuable role that paid employment plays in assisting disadvantaged people to participate in society
• The skills to provide a basic level of support and counselling to disadvantaged people
• A passion and demonstrated ability to work towards high performance results
• The ability to work autonomously within a team that is outcome focused
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

You'll also have a flair for marketing, an ability to liaise with a wide range of industries and a knack for negotiating placements that will result in long term employment outcomes for our customers. You will display strong initiative and have a willingness to support and facilitate team outcomes.
