Lotus Nursing is an Accredited  in Home Nursing  Service, owned and operated by Registered Nurses.  We are a rapidly growing company and industry leader in providing expert Home Care in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne.

Lotus Nursing specialises in individualised, flexible in home care so that families can keep their loved ones at home. We also provide Post Acute Nursing at home for patients of all ages.

About the role

The right Carer will:

Be available to work mornings

Have access to their own reliable car

Highly desireable, fluency of an additional language other than English

Have their own Smart phone

•  Ensure that professional care is delivered consistent with the  Vision, Mission and Values of Lotus Nursing

• Ensure that care is consistent with contemporary practice and the clients' care plan

• Have a varied role from personal care, social support, light domestic duties, basic medical care and medication prompting.

• Have an ability to work effectively, sensitively and professionally with a range of clients and their families.

• Have an understanding of the ageing process and ability to assist clients with day to day functioning such as hygiene, grooming, nutrition, toileting, socialisation and mobility.

• At times work in conjunction with Nurses to provide the best possible care to our clients

• Be required to drive between clients and work independently

• Encourage clients to participate in their own care

• Be capable of prioritising work and exercising discretion within established policies, guidelines and procedures

• Have an ability to identify, report and escalate any changes in client care needs in a timely manner

• Always practice safe manual handling and have the ability to identify and report actual and potential hazards in a timely manner

• Be able to work autonomously

Skills and experience

• Certificate 3 in Aged and Community Care or
• Certificate 3 in Individual Support or
• Certificate 3 or 4 in Disability
• Current Drivers Licence and access to a registered reliable vehicle with a minimum of Third Party Fire and Theft insurance
• A current and valid Police Check
• Level 2 First Aid and Basic Life Support
• Previous experience in Aged and or Community Care work desirable
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
• Leadership qualities
• Excellent Interpersonal Skills
