Dementia Australia is the new voice of Alzheimer’s Australia, and the peak body representing the interests of people with dementia, their families and carers.

 

We are currently seeking a Dementia Advisor to join our Client Services Department and work in the region of Forster/Taree, NSW. As a Dementia Advisor, you will provide information, support, referral, resourcing and innovative responsive service models.

 

To be successful in these roles you will show an absolute commitment to the delivery of high quality dementia services and support within your region.

 

Key Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated high level of verbal, written and interpersonal communication
  2. Knowledge of dementia and the caring role
  3. Proven capacity to problem solve and negotiate with others
  4. Good organizational skills and ability to prioritise work load
  5. Demonstrated ability to network with, consult and respond to the needs of a diverse group of stakeholders.
  6. Skills and experience for group work including facilitation of support groups
  7. Public speaking and presentation skills and experience
  8. Commitment to supporting the needs and rights of people from special needs groups e.g.:  Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities, and those from rural/ remote communities
  9. Demonstrated intermediate experience with Microsoft Office suite and the use of electronic databases
