We are currently seeking casual Disability Support Workers in Armidale, Guyra, Glen Innes, Walcha areas, who are enthusiastic and caring, to provide support to people living with disability, to maintain their wellbeing, explore opportunities and work towards goals that are important to them.

The role involves assisting people with daily living skills and community inclusion and participation activities. Duties may include administering medications, providing personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, shopping, supporting with health and well-being and community/activity participation.

Experience is not necessary but you will need to have great communication skills, commonsense and be willing to learn and follow instructions. You must be available to work at a variety of locations and various shifts including early mornings, week days, evenings, overnight and weekends.

Selection Criteria:

  • Enthusiasm to work with people who may have complex needs.
  • Ability to assess and manage risks to ensure the safety of our participants.
  • Ability to use initiative and to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • An understanding of the Person Centred approach to support.
  • Strong administration and time management skills.
  • Ability to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, sleepovers and weekends.
  • A current, unrestricted Driver's Licence.
  • A current First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain within 3 months).
  • A Clear Criminal Record.
  • A current Working with Children Check.
  • Certificate III or equivalent in relevant studies or equivalent knowledge or experience is desirable by not essential.
