ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Ignite facilitates business creation for people from refugee backgrounds who are keen to establish a small business or expand an existing one.

Aspiring entrepreneurs are supported by Ignite facilitators, business mentors and a Resource Team made up of volunteers from local businesses, councils, chambers of commerce and other individuals who can share their business knowledge and skills.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

You will focus on developing the Ignite program to ensure viability, sustainability and expansion, whilst managing the day to day operations and periodic review of the program.

  • Provide strategic advice and planning to support the sustainability and expansion of the Ignite program in key identified areas
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team and support Ignite staff including overseeing recruitment, induction, performance appraisal and performance management for Ignite staff whilst ensuring compliance with relevant Awards, Agreements and related organisation policies and procedures.
  • Scope opportunities for new partnerships including with funding bodies and business partners and collaborate with existing internal and external partners to strengthen and maintain client enterprise outcomes and support staff in developing partnerships at a local community level.
  • Ensure the Ignite program meets program outcomes, ensuring client initiatives are informed by evidence-based capacity building strategies.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring and review of the Ignite program to ensure appropriate statistical data is collected and all activities are reported to the Project Management Board and others as required in a timely manner.
  • Develop a program framework, including systems, policies and procedures to manage the capability, sustainability and expansion of the Ignite program

ABOUT YOU

You would be an experienced and passionate Program Manager with tertiary qualifications in community development, social science, or human resources coupled with Strong leadership, strategic thinking and planning skills. Your Extensive project management experience especially managing those with social justice outcomes, would see you succeed in this role. You would possess exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills along with the ability to provide expert and technical advice to senior management. Building high performing teams and providing excellent mentorship is something you would have previously done and enjoy. You will have demonstrated analytical, research and conceptual skills with the ability to provide appropriate solutions to complex problems and issues. Your extensive experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and with people from vulnerable communities would be highly desirable although not essential. A valid driver’s license and car is a prerequisite for this role.
