IDV is one of the largest not-for profit organisations in Melbourne’s northern regions supporting adults with a disability. We provide support to our participants to realise and achieve their goals and aspirations with a strong focus on community.
About the role
IDV is seeking an experienced and motivated individual with a keen desire to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities. We currently have a part time role on offer of 3 days per week (Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays) which is a 6 month fixed term contract role, covering maternity leave.
Job tasks and responsibilities

- Support participants with high support needs and behaviours of concern

- Complete various forms of electronic documentation throughout the year
- Ability to manage own workload as well as make a positive contribution to a team environment
Your Skills and Experience
- Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent (i.e. tertiary qualifications )
- Previous experience as a Disability Support Worker
- Current First Aid Certificate (minimum level 2) and CPR certificate
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence
- Current National Police Check
- Sound PC skills including the Microsoft Office applications of Outlook and Word
- A practical understanding and working knowledge of relevant legislation including the Disability Act 2006
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical standards and behaviours
- A clear understanding of goal setting in relation to identified support needs
- Ability to undertake the assessment of identified goals for participants
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
