Skillset Workforce is currently seeking applications for passionate and motivated individuals to join a local community services organisation in Dubbo. The successful candidates will complete a Cert III in Community Services and receive on-the-job and formal training by industry professionals.
This is a rewarding opportunity to commence a role which focuses on helping others in the community and will provide both on the job experience and study. You will be allocated a dedicated Skillset Workforce Consultant who will support you through your Traineeship and at the successful completion of the role you will graduate with a nationally recognised qualification.
This position is suited to compassionate individuals who identify as Indigenous, are community and customer service focused and are passionate about helping others.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work with the Program Manager to deliver a range of service delivery supports to clients and their families
- Complete administration and operation duties in the workplace including record keeping and reporting
- Assist and support clients in their participation and progress through crisis accommodation service deliveries
- Observe, identify and report client AOD, criminal & illegal activity, violence, security, safety and other matters, and bring to the attention of the Program Manager
- Work with and support clients to access local supports, community agency networks and other stakeholders to enable community participation
- Support clients to find appropriate accommodation and housing in public, social, private and Aboriginal housing portfolios
- Implement WHS, EEO, Aboriginal Cultural appropriateness and respect, LBGQTI and other gender policies that respond to a culturally diverse client cohort
Qualifications, skills and experience required
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Willingness to work with people effected by domestic violence, co-morbid health issues, complex behaviours and addictions or mental health illnesses
- Passionate for helping people
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Current Working with Children's Check and Police Check
- Minimum Year 10 or equivalent (HSC Desirable)
- Current Drivers Licence
- Commitment to the study component of the Traineeship
