Settlement Services International (SSI) is a leading community-based not-for-profit organisation providing a range of services in the areas of refugee settlement, asylum seeker assistance, housing, multicultural foster care, disability support and employment services in NSW. YOUR CONTRIBUTION

The Project Coordinator will establish and implement the ‘Our Voice’ project. The project aims to build the capacity of mainstream services to be responsive to the access needs of people living with disability and their supporters from CALD backgrounds. It will achieve this through learning activities led by lived experience educators. Duties and responsibilities of the Our Voice Project Coordinator include:

  • Develop, implement and monitor activity work plan for the project
  • Recruit, train and develop a pool of lived experience educators
  • Work with key internal stakeholders to develop a marketing strategy
  • Manage and coordinate a calendar of learning activities
  • Develop and implement tools and processes for running of the project
  • Work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to ensure the success of the project.

SELECTION CRITERIA

This role would suit someone who is passionate about supporting those with lived experience to share their insights and experience to make more inclusive services. People with lived experience of disability are strongly encouraged to apply. Other required skills knowledge and experience include:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or TAE
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience working with people living with disability from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience in the development and delivery of adult learning initiatives
  • Experience mentoring and developing people
