Volunteer Coordinator

IRT Foundation empowers older Australians to live free from disadvantage. Our volunteer program is a key initiative that will help us tackle social isolation, and increase the social participation of vulnerable older people.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced professional to join the IRT Foundation Team at Wollongong, reporting to the IRT Foundation Manager. As an enthusiastic and passionate person, the Volunteer Coordinator will be primarily responsible for delivering on the Volunteer Strategy.

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Consulting with IRT’s various Business Units and external parties on volunteering opportunities
  • Lead, guide and provide sound advice on volunteering principles
  • Develop and maintain effective systems (database management, onboarding, volunteer recognition etc)
  • Provide support and guidance to staff working with volunteers
  • Promote IRT volunteering opportunities through various avenues
  • Assisting in the development, maintenance and reporting of volunteer activity

To be successful:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or an ability to demonstrate significant relevant experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Experience in recruitment, selection, on-boarding and events to engage individuals
  • Proven experience in interpreting and providing advice on statutory documents, relevant legislation and organisational policies and procedures
  • High-level facilitation, communication (written and verbal) and negotiation skills
  • A current driver's licence
