About the role

In this newly created role in our Intensive Family Support Service, you will be responsible for providing advanced clinical support to address health care needs to improve outcomes for vulnerable families and the safety of children. In this varied role, you will:

  • Undertake clinical assessments of the developmental and health needs of children;
  • Contribute to the development of child and family case plans;
  • Support families better access to the health care system and ensure seamless referral pathways to address current health and/or developmental concerns;
  • Provide support and advice to community organisations, the staffing team and health service providers to identify and address presenting and ongoing needs of families requiring clinical health support;
  • Provide clinical advice and support during complex case discussions and staff meetings;
  • Contribute to building safety and protection for children within families living in complex circumstances. 

Remuneration package indicative of 76-79k per annum plus superannuation, with salary packaging benefits that greatly increase take-home pay.

About you

A dedicated and experienced clinician, you are able to manage competing priorities with ease and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for families. You have a passion to improve outcomes for vulnerable families and you enjoy working in a diverse team of practitioners driven by a culture of continuous improvement.

You have excellent communication skills, and enjoy the challenge of working in a fast paced environment focussed on solutions to these challenges. You have a keen interest in child development and comprehensive knowledge of attachment theory and trauma informed practice.  You are responsive and flexible in adapting to the needs of children, young people and families.

To be suitable for this position, your qualifications for the role will consist of:

  • A current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate;
  • Demonstrated experience as a Registered Nurse with experience in a Community Setting (preferably children and family focussed);
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Child and Family/ Community Health or Community Services (ideally).
