Detail information about job NDIS Project Manager. Terms and conditions vacancy

Part-time 0.6 Position

2 Year Fixed Term to June 2020

About the role:

The NDIS Project Manager is a key member within MacKillop’s leadership team, responsible for providing the leadership, engagement, project management, detailed business modelling and implementation planning required across MacKillop nationally to enable MacKillop to engage successfully with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) consistent with our strategic plan.

The NDIS Project Manager, under the guidance of the Director Strategic Development and Planning, will further develop and implement the MacKillop-wide NDIS Business Transformation Project to engage leaders across the organisation in thinking about how we do business differently and take decisive action at all levels to enable this to happen. We need to consider different models of practice and integration across finance, human resource management, information technology, philanthropy, donor engagement and marketing, and work with operational leaders and NDIS/ Disability specialists across jurisdictions. The aim will be to enable strategic decision making and a national approach which also considers the local context and necessary variations.

Based in the heart of South Melbourne, with some travel to enable frontline engagement, this is a 0.6 EFT, 2- Year fixed term position to 30 June 2020.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide the leadership, engagement, project management, detailed business modelling and implementation planning required across MacKillop nationally to enable MacKillop to engage successfully with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) consistent with our strategic plan.
  • Further develop and define the specific niche areas MacKillop Family Services will engage with under the NDIS in each of Victoria, NSW and Western Australia including how these might integrate with other program areas across MacKillop.
  • With guidance from the Director Strategic Development and Planning, develop and clearly articulate a comprehensive, coherent and sustainable MacKillop NDIS strategy

About you:

If you are keen to take a leadership role in making the NDIS work across a complex values- based organisation, with expert capacity to engage with people, strong project management and NDIS expertise, this could be the role for you.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Minimum Degree level tertiary qualification(s) in a relevant field (eg., Disability, social policy, community development, allied health, psychology)
  • In-depth knowledge of the NDIS – the philosophy, business drivers, client eligibility requirements, service requirements, pilot site lessons learned, program modelling, etc.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies, supported by highly developed conceptual and analytical skills.
  • Substantial experience in developing and leading complex projects in large human service organisations.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to participate collaboratively with staff and other stakeholders, as well as display initiative and effective personal judgement when working alone.
  • Well established external industry networks and a demonstrated capacity to exercise influence within an NDIS environment and lead positive change.

This is a great opportunity to lead and shape NDIS strategy and implementation, engaging staff and making a positive contribution to the lives of vulnerable children, youth and families. If this sounds like an opportunity for you, then we want to hear from you.
