About the Opportunity

HammondCare Neringah is a 19 bed hospital providing palliative care as well as a a community based service providing specialist care to patients living at home. Neringah Hospital is currently seeking a Volunteer Coordinator who will be responsible for leading and growing a vibrant volunteer service that provides volunteer assistance to patients, families, and staff. The successful applicant will be leading volunteer teams both within the in-patient unit and the community home-based service.

The role is expected to commence early August 2018. The 12 hours are to be worked over 2 business days.

Reporting to the Volunteer Services Business Partner Health & Hospitals, the successful applicant will have:

  • A commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.
  • A demonstrated ability to organise, lead and motivate people.
  • The Ability to problem solve and remain flexible in changing environments.
  • Experience working with volunteers.
  • Ability to take initiative to identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the volunteer service and implement necessary change.
  • Confidence and ability to liaise between staff, volunteers, and patients.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills - intermediate with Microsoft Office.
  • Confidence and ability to engage with and go into the local community to recruit new volunteers.
