Barwon Child, Youth & Family (BCYF) is an independent, not-for-profit community service organisation that provides, delivers and develops services, where the need exists, that advance the rights and well-being of children, young people and their families.

BCYF has a breadth of services ranging from prevention and early intervention, to complex care, which are delivered via a significant client services platform. BCYF is also the parent company of its subsidiary 'BAYSA', a registered housing provider of a range of accommodation and community support programs.

About the Role

The Program Support Worker will liaise with staff, stakeholders, young people and clients to organise and ensure the effective delivery of Group Work Programs within BCYF and the Youth Advisory Group within Communities that Care (CTC).

The key objectives of this role are:

  • Provide administrative program support and practical assistance for the group work service delivery team
  • Coordinate and facilitate monthly working groups for Youth Advisory Group for Communities That Care
  • Act as a mentor for the YAG participants both on a group and individual basis, specifically in relation to their membership.
  • Coordinate, organise and deliver evidenced based programs
  • Develop and maintain relevant data base systems and provide reports as required

About You

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Qualification, or working towards, in Business Administration, Social Work, Welfare, Community Services, Community Development or related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with children and young people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge and understanding of existing frameworks and guidelines that promote the participation of children and young people.
  • Understanding of the purpose and expectations of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and demonstrated commitment to contributing to a child safe organisation in both practice and culture.
