*$85,800 pa pro rata (Band 6) plus super  *Temporary Part time - 23 hpw until 30 Dec 2018 reducing to 21 hpw Jan-Oct 2019

The Access to Early Learning (AEL) program is currently seeking a motivated individual who is committed to working in the AEL team and partnership with families and services to support improved outcomes for children.

Hume City Council receives funding to implement the State Government Access to Early Learning Project.

The aims of the Access to Early Learning (AEL) program are to:

  • improve access to quality early education and care for vulnerable 3 year old children
  • improve learning and development outcomes for vulnerable children
  • support early childhood education and care services to offer quality, inclusive programs and environments that have capacity to engage all families, including vulnerable families
  • support early childhood professionals and educators to develop the skills and knowledge to meet the needs of all children and families, including vulnerable children and families.

This position is designed to support a range of activities that contribute to the successful implementation of the AEL program and will conclude in October 2019.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in building workforce capacity and inclusion of children in to early years programs
  • Strong knowledge of the education and care service system and an understanding of the issues and barriers facing families in accessing programs and services for their child
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience working with Victorian Child Protection, Child FIRST, Family Services and processes and the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 (CYFA) including the Best Interest Framework for Vulnerable Children and Youth.
