Casual Youth Support Workers Required

Kids Out West is an innovative and regionally based preferred service provider for Family and Community Services. We assist in supporting children who are in out of home care by supervising contact between children and their families, providing day or overnight respite support and transport. We are based in Narromine NSW, and cover a large area across the Central and Far West, Murrumbidgee, Newcastle/Hunter New England and beyond. 

We are currently recruiting staff who can support the Upper New England Areas including Tamworth, Armidale, Moree, Narrabri, Inverell, Glen Innes and Taree.  

Selection Criteria

  • Minimum Cert III in Youth Work and/or similar qualification and minimum 6 months experience in service delivery with children or young people with complex needs. 
  • Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • A passion for working with vulnerable children and helping make positive changes in their lives.
  • Reliable car with comprehensive insurance
  • Written and oral communication skills of a high order. Including report writing skills, liaising with multi disciplinary teams and other professionals.
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft office and Windows based software
  • Current drivers licence, with clean driving record (Checks are completed)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Current first aid certificate 
  • Current Working with Children's check (paid).
  • Current National Criminal History check 
  • Availability to work flexible hours with a minimum of at least 3 whole days per week (24 hour period)
