Family Workers – Child/Youth & Family
Full time, 37.5 hours per week based in West Ryde (but attending multiple locations across the Northern Sydney District of the Department of Family and Community Services). Start date 30th July 2018. Salary is negotiable and packaging options are available – please contact for further information.
The position is designed to work in a partnership focusing on a strength-based client centred service provision model; aiming to deliver services to the most vulnerable children, young people and families to achieve changes that keeps them safe and improve their social, emotional, health and educational outcomes.
This position will strategically focus on working directly with vulnerable children, young people and families. Implement a range of evidence-based programs and effective strategies to ensure that children and families are actively supported by a system that strengthens their ability to overcome barriers to their success and wellbeing in life.
The position will develop projects to work closely with community partners to co-ordinate and develop a more efficient, flexible and expanded mix of services that align to people's needs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Tertiary studies, Bachelor of Social Work or other relevant qualifications;
· Minimum of three years’ experience in a non-profit setting involving vulnerable children, young people and families or similar organisation;
· Experience with project work, coordination, parenting programs, group work training, organising and administrative duties;
· Experience in mental health and life skills, particularly with children and youth;
· Experience in excellent written and verbal communication skills;
· Ability to critically review and discuss related research and data;
· Mandarin or Korean language skills (desirable), experience working with immigrant populations, healthcare settings, and/or experience within court system are a plus;
- Current driver’s license and own car required as you will be required to attend multiple locations;
- PR Status and appropriate work Visa;
