About the opportunity

That's why, we're looking for a Part Time Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner as committed to creating a safe, confidential place to talk about troubling emotions, behaviours and relationship issues as we are, to join our team Counselling and Mediation Centre in Sydney’s CBD 

Each one of our clients is unique and deserves to be supported by someone who will work with them to build healthy relationship habits, manage conflict and share positive communication. We’re looking for someone who is as exceptional as the people we support; we want to know who you are and what your passion is because we know how important it is that you love what you do.

Work days are flexible with the expectation to work from 10.30 to 18:30 one day per week.  Ideally, you’ll successfully start by working three days per week for the first six months of employment and then move to two days per week thereafter. No day will ever be the same as you provide a range of interventions to families post-separation including:

  • Mediation
  • Conciliation
  • Therapeutic mediation
  • Child inclusive practice under the jurisdiction of the Family Law Act.

 About You

Appropriate degree (or equivalent) in either law or a relevant social science.
Accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (Australian Attorney- General’s Department) or ability to successfully complete training to meet the accreditation requirements.
An understanding of the process and purpose of child-inclusive mediation practice.
Knowledge of family law legislation.
Knowledge and understanding of community services, especially those relating to families experiencing relationship difficulties.
Knowledge of child protection
