We are currently seeking to appoint a Volunteer Coordinator to manage and develop volunteering opportunities and student intern placements across the organisation aligned and contributing to the vision, mission and strategic goals of Activ and to develop the volunteer services accordingly. The position will be focused on program development and planning as well as people management in conjunction with the People & Quality team.
Key duties include:
- Management of all elements of volunteering at Activ including volunteer attraction, placement, deployment and training to meet business needs
- Facilitation and administration of student intern opportunities
- Conducting volunteer orientation sessions
- Monitor, support and motivate volunteers
- Implement and drive continuous improvement through feedback from volunteers and all stakeholders and through the implementation and review of the volunteer strategy, policies and procedures that guide the program and services highlighting Activ’s core values
- Maintain all volunteer databases to a high standard of accuracy and ensure volunteer compliance with statutory authorities and Activ’s mandatory requirements
- Work with external volunteer agencies to develop volunteer opportunities at Activ
What you need?
- A minimum of three (3) years’ supervisory or management experience within a Volunteer Coordinator role or similar, preferably working in a not-for-profit organisation
- Previous experience working with people living with a disability will be highly regarded
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications – specifically Word and Excel
- Demonstrated experience of recruitment, support (including orientation and training coordination) and supervision of volunteers or staff.
- Training and workshop facilitation- desirable
