We are seeking a highly motivated Employment Broker with suitable experience and qualifications to contribute to our JVEN service.

The Jobs Victoria Employment Network (JVEN) is a government funded service supporting people aged 15+ on their journey to employment by providing intensive, pre-employment support to improve the work-readiness of people and help them into work. The IMVC, in partnership with Jesuit Social Services is a JVEN provider across the Melbourne Metropolitan region.

JVEN aims to assist Victorians who are disadvantaged in the labour market to gain and retain employment, contributing to increased social and economic inclusion and assisting Victorian businesses to meet their skills and labour needs.

The Employment Broker will be responsible for initiating, expanding and strengthening employer relationships to acquire vacancies for JVEN participants, and liaising with

Key Selection Criteria:

Experience with jobactive or equivalent is desirable.

Applicants will also have:

1. Demonstrated ability to communicate and liaise with employment agencies and industry in a professional manner to source vacancies;
2. Excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork and ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision;
3. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated experience in facilitating consultation processes;
4. Ability to represent and promote the IMVC Industry program to employment and industry stakeholders;
5. Strong report writing skills and ability to design, develop and deliver appropriate work readiness modules to relevant stakeholders;
6. Demonstrated experience and/or capacity in project management in order to effectively implement and manage employment programs;
7. High standard of organisation and time management skills including planning, record-keeping, attention to detail and the application of a range of software packages;
8. Understanding of the key employment and training issues for people from Metropolitan Melbourne;
9. Results driven, passionate about performance and able to meet KPIs;
10. Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children, and of children with diverse needs and/or backgrounds.
