Part-time FTE 0.8 position, based in Port Pirie

The Family Support Services team work with families to address child protection issues. Case Managers work in family homes, providing hands-on role modelling of safe and nurturing parenting practices to build parenting capacity and strengthen relationships between children and their families to;
- reduce and eliminate risk factors
- promote child safety and well being
- prevent family breakdown
- enhance and improve family functioning
- increase knowledge and skills to care for children and young people

You will:
- Be able to work with families and children in their home and persevere when facing challenges
- Have a sound knowledge of child development and age appropriate parenting strategies
- Have the ability to establish positive, empowering relationships with families
- Be organised, plan to meet deadlines
- Have strong relationship building and communication skills, written and verbal
It is essential for you to have:
- Current Australian Drivers Licence
- Certificate 4 or above in a Human Services related field e.g. Community Services, Child Youth & Family Intervention, etc.
- Relevant experience, in a paid or voluntary capacity
A tertiary qualification in a Human Services related field e.g. Social Work will be highly regarded. You may also need to be available for some out of hours work and travel between UCSA sites or interstate as required.
