Client Services Manager – Community Division

About the business and the role

Founded in 1962, Fairhaven Services (FS) is a community leader in the provision of services for people living with disability (primarily intellectual). We offer community participation, activities and programs, employment opportunities, accommodation and living support, as well as a retail precinct. The people who join our team actively respect the rights of people living with disability and value their contribution to the workplace and the community.

The Client Services Manager is a member of Fairhaven’s leadership team and is responsible to manage the operational functions of the community services business unit ensuring an efficient and effective service is maintained and developed. The position also plays a key role in the development of infrastructure supporting Government funded compliance requirements in our community programs.

The Client Services Manager will contribute to a flexible and responsive organisational culture that values and respects the capacity of people living with disability to lead the life they choose. 

 

Job tasks and responsibilities

The key aims of the position are to establish and manage mutually beneficial contacts with relevant external parties ensuring the development and expansion of Fairhaven’s community services business unit.

The position will also oversee the accreditation processes ensuring policies and procedures are aligned to best practice and that a culture of continuous improvement is actively supported.

You are required to provide leadership and operational management of the community services business unit, ensuring that all services are person-centred and promote social inclusion.

This role has a key focus on supporting the development of the business unit which requires knowledge of the market and competitors. It is expected you will maintain an extensive knowledge of current market conditions through a wide business network identifying opportunities to develop Fairhaven’s brand recognition and competitive advantage. You will achieve this by fostering a professional business unit that is positioned to take advantage of innovation, continuous improvement and growth opportunities.

About you

What you need to have:

  • Experience managing people
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Experience with strategic management of a business unit
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing teams and processes utilising effective change management principles
  • Excellent communication skills that have successfully driven individual and team engagement and performance
  • Contribute to enhancing the public image and brand recognition of Fairhaven Services by representing the organisation in public forums and events, inter-agencies, cluster groups, business chambers and by communicating effectively to stakeholders, within the community sector and more broadly.

 

What would be nice to have:

  • Relevant qualifications in social science, human services or similar discipline
  • High level knowledge and understanding of the policy, procedures and standards relating to the provision of disability services.
  • Sound understanding of person-centred disability services
  • An understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme

  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, results-orientated with a positive outlook
  • Self-motivated, energetic, flexible and responsive with a high degree of initiative.
  • Highly developed problem solving skills with the ability to develop practical and forward thinking solutions.
