AQA Qualcare provides personal care and support to people with a disability, injury or illness in their homes and communities throughout Victoria.

We are currently seeking experienced and committed female* Disability Support Workers/PCAs to support our valued clients living independently in the Geelong / Surf Coast region - including suburbs such as (but not limited to) Anglesea, Bell Post Hill, Belmont, Corio, Geelong, Grovedale, Leopold, Ocean Grove, St Albans Park and Torquay.

Shifts: Regular shifts available across 7 days of the week - including mornings, afternoons, evening shifts and sleepovers. Shift lengths can vary from a minimum of 1 hour, 2 hours, 5 hours or up to 8 hours on some programs, however the ability to build meaningful hours is a great opportunity. Shifts are worthwhile for locally based applicants that would not need to drive far. Travel reimbursement for kms between clients may apply in certain conditions.  

Duties may include:

• All aspects of personal care – including:
  • showering assistance - partial or full assistance
  • Transfers - including manual hoist, electric hoist, slide board, sling, standing assistance
  • Bowel and continence support - which may include - leg bag, use of a commode, 
  • personal grooming
  • Skin integrity checks
• Meal preparation / assistance 
• Household tasks and light domestic support
• Community access

The successful candidate will have very strong communication skills, a "can-do" attitude, resilience, an ongoing commitment to confidentiality, duty of care and a respect for work delivered in a client's personal home. 

To be considered you must have:

• A Certificate III in Disability/Aged Care/Individual Support or equivalent/higher 
• A current police check (no more than six months old) or a willingness to obtain a new one
• Clear name check against the Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme
• current First Aid certificate / CPR 
• current drivers licence and own reliable transport
• International Police Check/Clearance (Applicable if you have lived overseas for 12 months or more between 2008 and 2018)
• Visa entitlements to work in Australia (if applicable)
• Industry experience highly regarded!
