CareChoice provide 24 hour support making a variety of different shifts available, including mornings, afternoons, active nights, sleepovers and weekends. We focus on providing the right person, on time, every time so that our clients can rely on us to achieve their goals.

The Role:
We are looking for a number of disability support workers who have experience working with clients with challenging behaviours and are confident in dealing with difficult situations.

Our client requires 24-hour 1:1 care which includes overnight shifts. The ideal support worker will be willing to actively engage with our client, whilst at the same time being able to be firm and set boundaries.

The shifts will vary from daytime community access, to evening sleepover shifts. You will be able to choose what hours suit you best. Our client requires assistance with personal care, and is very active and loves to keep fit as well as socialize and engage with the community. Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Behavioural management
  • Home/domestic care
  • Personal care
  • Assisted social outings

Support Worker Profile:

Minimum requirements for this role include:

  • Previous experience with challenging behaviours including Absconding, sexualised/socially inappropriate behavior and verbal agitation
  • A clear and current police check obtained within the last six months
  • A current First aid - Within 3 years
  • CPR certificate - Within 12 months
  • A current Working With Children Check (Victorian)
  • An international police check (where applicable)
  • A current drivers licence
  • Ability to engage and build rapport with clients
  • Certificate IV in Disability, Certificate III in aged care or equivalent is highly desirable but not essential

You will undertake specific training on how to successfully manage this client and will have ongoing support from our client engagement team along the way. We are looking for support workers who are willing to build a rapport with our client and work with them long term.
