About the role:
The Regional Manager – Council Services will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of council services within Galiwin'ku Community and contribute to implementing the strategic direction of the East Arnhem Regional Council.
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:
- Demonstrated experience in managing program delivery and business operations in a remote Indigenous environment.
- Proven ability to initiate and manage a range of service delivery activities in a cost effective, efficient and collaborative manner.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, develop and mentor staff from a range of backgrounds in a dynamic environment.
- Proven high level skills in oral and written communication including the ability to consult and negotiate sensitively and effectively with Indigenous and non-indigenous people.
- Demonstrated experience in report generation, data interpretation, records, systems and resource management and knowledge of the statutory, legal and contractual obligations of Local Government.
- Demonstrated experience in fostering positive relationships between stakeholders and special interest groups.
- Willingness to travel frequently and stay overnight in remote Communities.
- Drivers Licence.
It would be desirable if you also possessed:
- Tertiary qualification in management or related discipline.
- Awareness of issues affecting Indigenous people to ensure effective participation in a cross-cultural environment.
What you'll get in return:
A full time fixed term (2 years) contract receiving a salary of $106,125.06 before superannuation contributions of 9.5%. You will benefit from 6 weeks of annual leave with 17.5% leave loading. Your subsidised accommodation is based in Galiwin'ku and you can expect to pay a $75 per week rental contribution. Relocation assistance will be provided to the successful applicant.
