Windamere Park has vacancies for energetic people with initiative and experience in supporting participants with an intellectual disability in a unique farm environment. Staff will be required to support participants to achieve their goals through developmental programs. We target daily living skills, vocational, and recreational skills among others to achieve their chosen pathways.
Positions are available for both full time and part time contracts.
Hours of duty are as required for daily activities, overnight stays and weekend work in Camp Windamere.
Key tasks:
- Promote a high quality of service to people with intellectual disability by:
- Providing practical support and personal care to clients.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and organisational records as directed.
- Completing written assessments of programs and goals.
- Participating, contributing and to assist in developing the implementation of the daily programs, assist to achieve their goals and assessing progression.
- To know and respond to special needs of clients
- Assist in the development of personal independence and autonomy of consumers by:
- Ensuring consumer choice and participation in personal decision-making.
- Promoting the development of self-control and problem-solving strategies by consumers.
- Providing development opportunities and experiences.
- Promote the integration of people with intellectual disabilities
- Support the maintenance of a harmonious and healthy work environment
- Undertake other duties relevant to the position, as required
- Experience in woodwork, farm hand skills and IT will be highly regarded
Qualifications:
Applicant must have appropriate certification (Cert 3 or 4 in Disability or equivalent) with proven experience, first aid certificate, current DCSI screening and SA driver’s license.
Location:
Northern suburbs of Adelaide.
