About the business and the role:

Asthma Australia is well established and committed to providing education and support for people with asthma and finding a cure to help Australians breathe better.  

We now have a vacancy in our Income Development team for a National Philanthropy Manager located in Sydney. As the National Philanthropy Manager, you will responsible for the strategic development and implementation of the major gifts program.

Working closely with the wider Income Development team, The National Philanthropy Manager will be responsible for developing strategy and growing the income from philanthropic trusts and foundations as well as from major donors and bequestors.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a major donor fundraising strategic plan, delivering income and expenditure forecasts.
  • Develop engagement and communication plans
  • Oversee the donor journey from approach to ask
  • Prepare donor strategies and proposals
  • Submit grant applications to support program and service delivery
  • Manage budgets, targets and reporting for the major donor program
  • Provide input into annual strategic planning, budget process and related activities.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field would be highly regarded
  • Proven experience in soliciting major gifts
  • Proven track record in grant applications
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and deliver organisational outcomes
  • High level interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional level of customer service and the ability to maintain excellent working relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • High level organisational and project management skills with capacity to prioritise, multi task and achieve business goals

Special Conditions:

  • Ability to undertake interstate travel
  • Valid driver’s license
