Childhood is precious. Growing up in a household affected by alcohol and other drugs (AOD) can significantly impact a child's future. That's where Kids In Focus (KIF) can support families. Our KIF Program supports families where there is alcohol and/or other drugs misuse.
As the KIF case worker, you will empower parents/carers in Wellington and Dubbo to make different choices, build healthy relationships with their children and improve their parenting capacity leading to safer family environments.
Depending on the family situation's, this may be providing information, referrals to appropriate services, techniques or tools to re-build the relationships or identifying positive, culturally appropriate supports as part of their safety plan and parenting skills development.
Terms: Maximum Term full time position available at Dubbo or Wellington - flexible location for the right candidate!
What you need to succeed?
You will have experience in motivating adults, preferably parents, to make lasting change for example as a case worker, in alcohol and/or other drugs (AOD), juvenile justice, corrections, community development or child protection.
You work collaboratively, prioritise the safety of children and are considered a respected, culturally safe individual by the local community.
