For over 64 years the Windgap Foundation has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with an intellectual disability.

Based in Sydney's eastern suburbs we pride ourselves on the quality and range of our services - Day Programs, Residential, Supported Employment, School Leaver Employment Supports and last but not least, Life After Work. 

We currently have opportunities for Casual Community Support Workers to join our team in a range of our services. Our Support Workers are dedicated to ensure our clients to live as independently as possible in the community. These opportunities see you providing person-centred support to empower and working with each client in ways that reflect the client's communication style, health needs and mobility capabilities.

To be successful, candidates must be able to demonstrate the following essential criteria:

  • Relevant experience supporting people with an intellectual disability / or in a related field
  • Ability to support and motivate clients to ensure that they can attempt to reach their full potential at all times
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and relate to people we support and their friends and families
  • Good level of general fitness and ability to complete manual handling tasks including some lifting
  • Sound administration skills and computer proficiency
  • Be flexible, highly motivated, possess emotional intelligence, maturity, a sense of humour and willingness to subscribe to the Windgap mission and values
  • Maintain current full NSW driver's licence and a road worthy, insured vehicle
  • Applicants must hold a valid paid Working with Children clearance number and successfully undertake a pre-employment police check
  • Applicants must hold a current First Aid certificate
